What are “appropriate cleansers?”

What are “appropriate cleansers?”  They are the products I have discovered do the safest and best cleaning job on the various surfaces one finds on your turntable.  “Safest” meaning no permanent harm will be done to those surfaces. “Best” meaning nothing I have found so far does a better job getting that surface back to near its original condition.  Over the last twenty years I have continually changed products if I discover something that works better, or a process that works better.  For example, I discovered a product that cleans and treats the Thorens rubber mats that works amazingly well iand n one-third the time I was using previously!  That’s exciting to me.  I’ve actually had a couple of customers say something to the effect of, “Is that my old mat, or did you include a NOS one?”
